Indian Folktales Retold | Ruskin Bond
About the book
Indian Folktales Retold brings you wonderful stories of every kind. You will meet generous kings, princes and princesses, people who are dumb, people who are wise, and many other weird and wonderful characters. This collection of stories takes you on a trip to the many wise tales of wisdom and wit that are taken from folktales from all across India.
Things that I loved
I loved each and every story, but my favorite stories amongst them are The Bania and the Jat, Love Conquers All, and finally, The Great Spirit of the Sal Tree. These stories teach you about cleverness, love, tenacity, and the importance and beauty of nature. I loved all of the characters equally, and so I would say that all of them are my favourites. I especially loved the fact that each story has something or the other to teach you – a moral lesson here, a bit of wisdom there, or just a simple slice of life.
